82nd Texas Legislative Session (2011)

Summary

The 82nd Texas Legislature adjourned from its Regular Session on May 30, 2011, and completed a Special Session on June 29. Gov. Rick Perry signed 1,458 bills passed during the Regular Session, vetoed 24, and allowed 27 to become law without his signature. The governor signed 22 bills passed during the Special Session.

The 82nd Legislature completed some work on major issues but left other issues pending until the next regular session in 2013. The legislators also postponed Sunset review of all health and human services agencies, including the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities and the Governor's Committee for People with Disabilities, until after the 2013 legislative session.
